MoniQA

Introduction

MoniQA (Monitor Quality Assurance) is a newly developed software tool, dedicated for monitor quality control/assurance in a digital radiology department. It simplifies the quality control (both short as long term) and works as a framework for the creation of new patterns. At this moment we support more than 75 patterns, including all patterns needed to perform a DIN Acceptance check, a DIN Constancy check, a EUREF/AAPM Half-yearly check, a EUREF/AAPMtg18 daily check and the patterns needed for the Daily Quality Control strategy proposed by the LUCMFR (the MoniQA pattern -dedicated for quick, complete daily quality control- and the Low Contrast Circles Pattern -pattern to quickly check the ambient light level). As so it fits in our general Quality Assurance network for radiological equipment.

Downloads

Here you can download the latest version of the MoniQA software and all related files. After downloading, please follow the instructions for installation which you can find in the accompanying manual.

Download MoniQA software version 2.5.1 (last updated 30/11/09; 36.1MB)
This is the latest version of our Monitor Quality Control software. Inside this distribution, there are our several patterns for DQC (MoniQA, Reduced MoniQA and Low Contrast Circles pattern) accompanied with all pattern to do quality control according to DIN and EUREF guidelines and some other usefull patterns. The software comes with a demo license and is preconfigured for a workstation with only one monitor. Please contact us to obtain a full license. You can find a installation guide here.
Download MoniQA AAPMtg18 extension (last updated 15/12/06; 14.3MB)
This extension contains all DICOM patterns of the AAPMtg18. These patterns can be downloaded from the AAPMtg18 website (http://deckard.duhs.duke.edu/~samei/tg18.htm). All AAPMtg18 copyrights apply to these files. These patterns can be viewed with the general patternviewer plugin, which is accessible when you load the MoniQA software as administrator.

Download MoniQA Viewing Angle extension (last updated 19/01/07;618kB)
This extension contains 7 patterns for the evaluation of the viewing angle on LCD monitors. The pattern can be found in the All patternssections and there is a scheme which groups them together.
  • Eva 1 pattern : Evaluating Viewing Angle pattern 1; complete contrast area (“First evaluation of a new pattern to easily check the influence of the viewing angle of liquid crystal displays during softcopy reading”; J. Jacobs et al.; Pres. RSNA2006) (example)
  • Eva 2 pattern : Evaluating Viewing Angle pattern 2; central contrast area (“First evaluation of a new pattern to easily check the influence of the viewing angle of liquid crystal displays during softcopy reading”; J. Jacobs et al.; Pres. RSNA2006) (example)
  • Viewing Angle pattern with low contrast rectangles (example)
  • Viewing Angle pattern with low contrast characters (example)
  • Simulation of the EIZO viewing angle pattern as can be seen in the EIZO MonitorTest software(example)
  • Simulation of a viewing angle pattern proposed by Badano et al. ("Visual Assessment of Angular Response in Medical Liquid Crystal Displays"; Aldo Badano, Sarah Schneider and Ehsan Samei; Journal of Digital Imaging; Online publication 06 June 2006) (example)
  • Simulation of a viewing angle pattern as found on techmind.org (example)

Download MoniQA Digital Projectors extension (last updated 19/01/07;678kB)
This extension contains the patterns provided by the NIST to characterize digital projection systems. These patterns are converted to PNG and can be viewed with the 'General patternviewer'. As so all copyright statements of the NIST apply to these patterns (for more information, click here).

Download MoniQA Viewer extension (last updated 19/01/07;475kB)
This extension contains a set of 10 MoniQA patterns in three different dimensions (2048x2560, 1680x1050 and 1024x768). The used format is a the normal format with extension *.mdcm (MoniQA DiCoM). New patterns can be easily created in several dimensions using the regular MoniQA pattern (popup menu --> Create customized pattern).
